Will Battlefield 6 Also Be Canceled and Labeled “AI Slop”? Fans Suspect New Cosmetics Were AI-Generated

Online detectives remain vigilant in their ongoing quest to uncover traces of artificial intelligence in modern game development.

Recently, vocal segments of the gaming community targeted Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, dismissing it as “AI-slop” following allegations that the developers utilized generative tools during production.

Now, the spotlight has shifted toward the Battlefield franchise. The community account Battlefield Bulletin recently highlighted a highly questionable icon included in the “Windchill” premium bundle.

Users have raised concerns that the developers are now churning out cosmetic content with the assistance of AI:

The “Winter Warning” player card sticker clearly depicts an M4A1 with a nonsensical double barrel. Other cosmetic assets and item descriptions also show hallmarks of being generated by AI tools.

AI evidence in Battlefield

Battlefield Bulletin contrasted these findings with previous assurances from DICE management. Only a few months ago, the studio’s leadership claimed that players would not encounter AI-generated content in the final game:

…Back in October, Rebecka Coutaz, Vice President and General Manager of DICE, emphasized that players wouldn’t see AI-created elements in the game. Coutaz explained that generative AI was strictly used during the conceptual phases—primarily to “allow for more creative breathing room”—but maintained that it was not currently possible to integrate such technology into the developers’ daily production workflow.
