Addressing community feedback, Wildlight is overhauling the “Gear Up” phase. Many players found the initial looting stage confusing or lacked motivation to explore Points of Interest (POIs), often relying solely on shops for equipment. To rectify this, the developer is significantly buffing the loot quality at POIs to make exploration more rewarding.

In a technical breakdown of the changes, Wildlight explained that internal testing showed a much higher combat intensity at POIs than what occurred in live matches. By increasing the value of found items, the team hopes to drive more engagement with the map’s environment rather than just visiting vendors like Flynn.

Furthermore, to assist players who struggle with navigation during the early game, the update adds intuitive waypoint markers and clearer map icons. These visual aids are designed to help newcomers and veterans alike identify high-value objectives more efficiently during the Gear Up phase.

Beyond these headline features, the update includes a robust list of quality-of-life enhancements and balance tweaks. With the game evolving at such a rapid pace, Highguard is quickly becoming a more polished and diverse experience for competitive raiders.
