Emmy laureate and Academy Award nominee Jeremy Strong, widely acclaimed for his role in Succession, has been tapped to lead the upcoming series Crossroads. Based on Jonathan Franzen’s celebrated novel of the same name, the casting was first confirmed by Variety.
The narrative centers on the Hildebrandt family residing in suburban Chicago during the early 1970s. At the heart of the story is Pastor Russ, the family patriarch, who alongside his wife and adult children, navigates a complex pursuit of individual liberation that frequently results in domestic friction and emotional conflict.
The project is currently in development at Netflix, with the adaptation being penned by Amy Herzog (Scenes from a Marriage). As of now, an official release window remains under wraps.
Strong’s recent portfolio includes the Bruce Springsteen biopic Deliver Me from Nowhere. Furthermore, he is slated to portray tech mogul Mark Zuckerberg in the upcoming film Social Reckoning, a thematic successor to The Social Network, expected later this year.
