The cinematic adaptation of the musical Wicked is scheduled to arrive on digital streaming platforms on December 30, according to reports from When To Stream.
Serving as a reimagined prequel to The Wizard of Oz, the project is based on Gregory Maguire’s celebrated novel and the 2003 Broadway sensation. The narrative explores the formative years and complex bond between two young witches, Elphaba (Cynthia Erivo) and Glinda (Ariana Grande).
Directed by Jon M. Chu, the film has already proven to be a massive commercial success, grossing $493 million at the global box office.
