Valve Updated Counter-Strike 2 — Some Welcome Subtick and Vulkan Improvements

The CS2 developers are not just delivering new content — they’re also enhancing the game’s technical foundation.

The team has rolled out another update for Counter-Strike 2. Valve fixed several issues on Mirage and implemented a number of technical adjustments.

Change log:

  • On Mirage, the collision model above the ladder at the sniper position has been updated.
  • The R8 revolver’s animation geometry and scaling have been refined.
  • The sv_subtick_movement_view_angles command now sends subtick view angles to the server only together with other subtick events; previously, view angles were transmitted on every frame where they changed.
  • Vulkan-based defragmentation has been enabled to reduce resource usage during texture streaming.

In blogger Raiz’s community, professional player ScreaM (FUT Esports) was quoted: “After the latest update the subtick feels much better — do you notice it too?”

While some players applaud the technical improvements, other CS2 fans continue to complain about cheaters.
