Black Ops 7 has been met with a torrent of negative player feedback. Its Metacritic user score has slid to 1.6, making it the lowest-rated Call of Duty entry among players. The main grievances center on the campaign, a mandatory always-online requirement, and a range of other issues.
The title has become one of the most discussed CoD releases in recent years — unfortunately for the wrong reasons. The single-player campaign has left many players disappointed, and the inclusion of AI-generated content has only amplified the backlash.
User reviews lay bare how frustrated the community is. On Metacritic the shooter has accumulated hundreds of negative submissions and dropped to a 1.6 user rating.
With more than 200 user reviews on Metacritic, this marks a new low for the franchise in terms of player scores. Previously the lowest-performing entry was Modern Warfare 3, which registered a 2.3 after criticism over repetitive maps and a brief campaign.
The notable distinction is that Modern Warfare 3 also suffered from weak critic scores — 56/100 — whereas Black Ops 7 currently holds an 84/100 critic rating, although additional reviews are still being published.
