Strategy games set within the Middle-earth franchise maintain a devoted following to this day. Recently, a team of talented modders unveiled a cinematic trailer for a massive overhaul project designed for The Lord of the Rings: The Battle for Middle-earth II: The Rise of the Witch-king.
This unofficial campaign, which painstakingly recreates the epic events of “The Return of the King,” functions as a comprehensive standalone modification.
The expansion introduces 11 distinct factions, hundreds of handcrafted maps, original spells, hero abilities, and a completely revamped AI system, among many other features.
The current version of the “Age of the Ring” mod is available for the community via the ModDB platform.
