A growing number of players have voiced concerns that the tactical shooter is beginning to lose its distinct sense of identity.
Recently, Ubisoft launched a crossover event between its tactical flagship, Rainbow Six Siege, and the acclaimed “Attack on Titan” series. As part of this collaboration, the operator Amaru has received a skin inspired by Mikasa Ackerman, while Oryx takes on the imposing appearance of the Armored Titan.
Each themed bundle includes a unique headgear piece, uniform, weapon skin, operator portrait, and a universal charm. Oryx’s set features the “Titanic Demolisher” skin for the T-5 SMG, whereas Amaru’s bundle offers the “Trusted Woodgrain” skin for the G8A1. Players can purchase these sets individually for 2,160 R6 Credits or opt for a combined bundle at a discounted price of 4,080 R6 Credits.
Community feedback suggests that long-time fans are increasingly frustrated, noting that the game is drifting away from its grounded roots. Many argue that the shift toward flamboyant crossovers is compromising its status as a serious tactical shooter.
So you’ve decided to milk this license for everything it’s worth, huh? [following Ubisoft’s recent AC Shadows and Attack on Titan collaboration].
This used to be a shooter grounded in the realism of Tom Clancy’s work.
Tom Clancy is spinning in his grave right now.
