The Epistle three jam affords home-brewed Half-life video games

Dozens of builders have been making their very own little variations of Half-Life 2: Episode three in a sport jam over the previous two months, and at present’s their final day to convey their homages residence. The Epistle 3 game jam has been impressed by Marc Laidlaw’s pitch for an Episode 3 script, and options all the things from an RTS via to an action-RPG and even an FPS or two.

The jam ends at 7pm tonight, and I’ve highlighted just a few entries that you simply may get pleasure from after the bounce.

The solely rule organiser Laura Michet units for the jam is that the video games need to adapt that synopsis “in whole or in part”, with no restrictions on style, artwork fashion, or the gender of the characters (Laidlaw’s cheeky obfuscation stars Gertrude Fremont and Alex Vaunt, bear in mind).

I attempted ‘I have no mouth and I must Freeman‘ as a result of a) it was the primary one I noticed and b) I’m a sucker for that joke format. It’s solely 5 minutes lengthy and bought a few chuckles out of me. Without spoiling any extra, it posits that Morse code is the reply to Freeman’s muteness drawback… kind of.

The Third One is a straight march down a hall, your solely job being to swat headcrabs away as they every pop up with a cute little squeal. All the characters you understand and love present up alongside the best way, normally making erm…supportive feedback in your state after a long time of being suspended in time. I don’t wish to speak about what occurred with Dr. Breen.

Those are simply a few the shorter entries. There’s additionally a an RTS mod for Alien Swarm, a VR doohickey and a visual novel titled ‘When Our Hearts Combine’.

There are 31 entries in complete up to now, with just a few extra trickling in at present. You can discover them throughout on the jam’s Itch.io page.
