The Cube from the creators of Atomic Heart combines shooter, RPG elements, and open maps
Building on the global success of Atomic Heart, developer Mundfish has unveiled its latest project, The Cube, which made its debut during the New Game+ Showcase.
The studio is shifting gears with a multiplayer shooter featuring RPG progression, set entirely within the confines of a colossal, enigmatic structure. Players are tasked with navigating surreal environments and overcoming a series of high-stakes challenges.
The reveal featured a narrative segment involving a researcher and his associate detailing the setting—a modular megastructure housing a diverse array of biomes, ranging from murky marshlands and dense forests to sprawling aquatic zones.
Gameplay will revolve around intense combat against monstrous entities, with players encountering characters in a variety of outfits. The title is expected to offer a deep selection of cosmetic items, though some designs may lean toward an eccentric aesthetic that contrasts with the game’s core atmosphere.
