Pre-orders for Don’t Starve: The Board Game open next week, so now is a perfect time to watch the new videos and see what to expect from the gameplay and which characters will be playable.
The Kickstarter campaign for Don’t Starve: The Board Game is slated to begin on September 30, 2025. To prepare players for the launch, Glass Cannon Unplugged and Klei Entertainment have published a new trailer and posted a gameplay overview.
In this cooperative roguelike for 1–4 players, you’ll struggle to survive in the grim world of “The Constant,” where magic and science are entwined in ways best left unexplained.
Players will be able to take on characters such as Wilson, Wendy, Webber, and Willow, gather valuable resources and craft equipment, encounter spiders, hounds, Tallbirds and other creatures, fight monsters, explore varied biomes, unlock new recipes and blueprints that carry over between sessions, and construct a base.
You’ll also have to keep an eye on the weather and your characters’ conditions, complete random objectives, replay scenarios, and—of course—make sure your party stays well fed.
Backers who pre-order Don’t Starve: The Board Game within the first 72 hours of the Kickstarter launch will receive Wolfgang as a bonus character.
