A demo of Codex Mortis recently launched on Steam for PC. It’s another reinterpretation of the Vampire Survivors formula, but its development method includes a notable twist.
The project is billed as the “first 100% vibe-coded playable game,” meaning the entire codebase was generated on request by a neural network. The art, visual effects, audio and other assets were also produced by artificial intelligence.
From a gameplay perspective, Codex Mortis is a bullet-hell where players harness “forbidden death powers” to fend off relentless waves of the undead. You can mix spells across several schools of dark magic:
