Starfield’s latest complimentary update has arrived, introducing a highly-anticipated feature: the REV-8 land vehicle! Now, you can venture into unexplored territories (and reach new zeniths) with your personal ground cruiser.
Eager to embark in the REV-8? Head over to your favorite city’s ship technician to install the vehicle module, and you’re set! Once you have the module integrated into your chosen vessel, the REV-8 will automatically deploy outside your ship upon landing. Express your individuality by customizing the REV-8 with distinctive colors.
While traversing planets in Starfield, you’re likely to encounter hostile threats. The REV-8 comes with a formidable mounted turret and armor for enhanced protection during drives. Utilize your boosters to swiftly extricate yourself from precarious situations. Additionally, these boosters aren’t just forward-facing—they can also propel you upwards, allowing you to soar through the skies and access previously unreachable areas.
The August Update also includes new Xbox Series S display settings to align with the existing Xbox Series X settings.
New settings:
- Frame Rate Target: You can now select between 30, 40, 60, or an uncapped frame rate on VRR displays. If you don’t have a VRR display running at 120hz, you’ll still be able to choose between 30 or 60. Be aware that screen tearing may occur when selecting 60 on a non-VRR display.
- Prioritize: You now have the option to prioritize between Visuals and Performance while maintaining your chosen frame rate target. If aiming for a frame rate of 60 or above, we recommend setting this to Performance. Prioritizing Visuals retains the highest resolution while ensuring fully detailed special effects, lighting, and crowd scenes. Prioritizing Performance reduces internal resolution and detail. Both modes may dynamically adjust the resolution during intensive scenes or actions. When switching modes, the lighting might briefly change as the system adapts.
- VSync: You can now toggle VSync on or off. Turning it off decouples the game frames from the monitor’s refresh rate, potentially causing screen tearing. Turning it on synchronizes the frame rate to the monitor’s refresh rate to prevent screen tearing, but it may limit the number of frames.
