Screenshot Saturday Sundays! In the midst of this hectic, kinda-sorta-not-E3 storm, maybe you’ll be part of me in taking a day away from the hype. Grab a cuppa, pop open your laptops, and let’s discover some gems buried behind the glitz and glamour of professionally-curated showcases. This week: the rat-man rises, electrifying ghosts, an eternity in landscapes and the attention of terror.
Move over, Games Workshop – we’re beginning this week’s screenshot rundown with a correct vermintide.

This is King, Witch And Dragon, a self-described “reverse Metroidvania” from developer Andrey Torchinskey. What’s not fairly clear is whether or not this man is sort of actually fabricated from rats, or if the rodents are summoning a fighter with their writhing our bodies to do their bidding. From the appears to be like of the game’s Steam page although, rats are solely one of many critters tormenting this poor man – with the bloke sprouting wretched spider-legs, bat wings, whereas snakes writhe out of his sleeves just like the worst youngsters’s magician.
Now, I’m no scientist, however I can’t say I’d imagined ghosts to be significantly nice lightning conductors.

Rolling into this week’s lineup trying like these floating our bodies from Death Stranding, developer Alexander Prokhorov has been posting loads of splendidly dreary landscapes these days – every punctuated by figures silently gazing from on excessive. The rain sways them, considerably, however not even the smash of Zeus’ mood tantrums close by can shake their watch over the hapless participant. Pretty dang spooky, that.
Afraid it’s all been quite doom n’ gloom with this week’s choice. If you’re in search of a lighter escape, could I give you a stroll by means of Jamaican developer Owen’s procedural landscapes?

Collected underneath the generative software Newosky, these areas are merely calming – lo-fi stretches of coastlines and sparse forests painted in easy palettes. While not as intentionally crafted, there’s somewhat little bit of Connor Sherlock’s Walking Simulator A Month Club lurking past the treelines. Deep pink skies and flowing regal plains, presided over by celestial our bodies that always intersect.
That’s about all we’ve bought for this week’s Screenshot Saturday lineup. But thoughts the way you spend the remainder of the afternoon – somebody, or one thing, is keeping track of you.

Taking the almost-compulsory “retro PS1 game wot looked creepy” slot this week is developer Toni Hughes. While it’s not clear whether or not this display is a part of it, digging by means of her works introduced up Agony Of A Dying MMO – an in-development horror game set within the remaining hours of a dying MMORPG. Like No Players Online, that’s goddamn catnip for my extremely-online, nostalgic whims, and I’m dying to see extra.
