Analytical firm Jon Peddie Research has released a new report detailing the state of the discrete graphics card market for the fourth quarter of 2025.
According to analyst data, NVIDIA solidified its dominance by capturing 94% of the desktop discrete GPU market, representing a 1.6% increase over the previous quarter. In contrast, AMD’s market share declined by that same 1.6%, falling to 5%. Meanwhile, Intel managed to hold its ground at 1%, maintaining the share it first secured in the preceding quarter.
Despite NVIDIA’s gains, the total graphics card market actually contracted. JPR reports that discrete GPU shipments dropped by 4.4% quarter-over-quarter, totaling 11.48 million units. However, looking at the broader picture, the market still shows a significant year-over-year increase of 36%.
Experts attribute this slowdown in shipments to rising memory costs and the impact of trade tariffs. According to JPR estimates, this unstable pricing environment could lead to a nearly 10% decline in the PC and GPU markets as early as 2026.
