For those of us who find survival horror particularly nerve-wracking, this news is exceptionally welcome. Despite being a lifelong fan of the franchise, certain entries—especially the first half of Resident Evil 7, also directed by Nakanishi—have pushed my limits. The ability to retreat from a terrifying encounter as Grace and return as the more physically formidable Leon provides a comforting safety net.
Beyond the relief for the faint of heart, there is a fascinating strategic element at play. Success will require balancing the resource load between both characters to ensure neither is left entirely defenseless during their respective segments.
“As you progress, you’ll see how actions taken in one role ripple into the other, creating a unique style of replayability that differs from previous titles in the series,” Nakanishi added.
Testing Leon Kennedy’s combat prowess in Resident Evil Requiem transformed me into a zombie-slaying expert, and I am eager to see more of the final product.
