Rayman: 30th Anniversary Edition is just the beginning: Ubisoft talks about the future of the series

The release of this collection has reignited dialogue regarding the franchise’s trajectory. For decades, the iconic character has served as a cornerstone of Ubisoft’s identity, embodying the studio’s creative spirit during the golden age of 2D platformers.

It has been more than ten years since the last flagship entry, Rayman Legends, arrived on the scene. In the interim, the IP has mostly surfaced in cameo roles, most notably within an expansion for Mario + Rabbids.

Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot informed the press that the anniversary edition represents the “initial phase of the brand’s revival.” He indicated that further updates concerning Rayman’s path forward will be shared shortly, emphasizing that the series was instrumental to the company’s formative years and remains a cherished part of its heritage.

While specific details about upcoming projects remain under wraps, Ubisoft has stated they are actively exploring various avenues for revitalizing their legendary franchises.
