These characters are known as Rekons—imposing humanoid avian fighters famed for their peerless physical prowess and massive stature, though they are equally known for their legendary dread of water.
“Rather than simply retelling a familiar story, we chose to journey back in time,” the studio explains. “We have explored an era over a millennium before the books take place, focusing on a pivotal historical moment that the novels only briefly mention.”

As this avian protagonist, players will navigate a brutal conflict between diverse fantasy races, engaging in the kind of “one-versus-many” combat that will instantly resonate with Musou enthusiasts.
“As a Rekon, you will frequently face dozens—if not hundreds—of opponents simultaneously. To clarify, these throngs of enemies are more than just background detail,” the developers emphasize. “Powered by advanced crowd technology, they dynamically move, flank, and respond to your tactics, ensuring every skirmish feels like a reactive and unpredictable spectacle.”
While only a glimpse of the game has been shown so far, the rise of unconventional Eastern fantasy has already produced some of the genre’s finest action RPGs. Project Windless and its avian champion certainly demand closer attention as development progresses.
