Marathon server slam and open preview weekend starts February 26 ahead of March launch

Participating in the server slam unlocks exclusive rewards for the official launch on March 5, including a unique cosmetic emblem and player banner. Furthermore, testers can secure a tiered gear package featuring weapons and body implants to provide a competitive edge during their initial runs.

PlayStation 5 users with an active PS Plus membership can claim additional bonuses, including weapon charms inspired by Ghost of Yotei, Death Stranding 2, and Helldivers 2.

The server slam is scheduled to begin and conclude at 10 AM PT / 1 PM ET / 6 PM BST. This preview build introduces two specific zones—Perimeter and Dire Marsh—alongside introductory contracts for five of the game’s factions. Players will have access to all six Runner Shells, including the versatile “Rook” class, alongside features like solo matchmaking and proximity voice chat.

Upon the launch of Season 1, the experience will expand with two additional zones: Outpost and Cryo Archive. The full release will also unlock comprehensive faction progression, allowing players to earn powerful perks and vendor items, while a dedicated ranked mode will be introduced for competitive play.

Sony remains “highly optimistic” regarding Marathon’s potential, following extensive playtests that helped refine the core experience ahead of its competition with titles like Arc Raiders.
