Voice actress Eman Ayaz spent three years working on the *Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time* remake, only to discover the project’s cancellation through public news reports just like everyone else.

"I’ve reached the most crushing point in my career," Ayaz shared in a heartfelt YouTube video. Despite the constraints of an ongoing non-disclosure agreement, she addressed the situation candidly. While she avoided mentioning the remake by name, her recent interactions with fans identifying her as Princess Farah make the connection clear.

"My brother sent me a message on WhatsApp asking if I was doing alright," she recalled. "I had no idea anything was wrong until he forwarded me a link to an article. That’s how I found out the project had been permanently shelved."

The timing was particularly jarring for the actress. "Only a month ago, I was recording promotional material for the game," Ayaz noted. "Everything seemed to be moving forward perfectly, and that was the last update I received before the news broke."

Her dedication to the role was absolute. "I turned down multiple other opportunities to stay committed to this project," she explained. "I even continued to perform and record with a broken foot because this character meant everything to me. I reached new emotional heights and discovered layers of my craft I didn't know I possessed."

Although the cancellation means she can no longer officially link her name to the work, she remains proud of her contribution. "It resulted in what I truly believe is the finest performance of my career. Just because something never sees the light of day doesn't mean it wasn't significant," she concluded.

The news arrives amidst broader instability at Ubisoft. The company recently discussed a "voluntary separation proposal" that could result in up to 200 job cuts at its French headquarters.

"Currently, this is a proposal. Final decisions will only be made following discussions with labor representatives and approval from the French authorities," Ubisoft stated.

Following a six-year development cycle and multiple internal reboots, the team behind the Prince of Persia remake expressed their regret over the situation, acknowledging the deep disappointment felt by the community.
