Director Dan Trachtenberg has stated that the upcoming film “Predator: Planet of Death” will not be connected to the franchise’s earlier installments.
“Predator: Planet of Death” will stand alone within the Predator and Alien universes. As Trachtenberg explained in an interview, the movie won’t require audiences to have seen previous entries and does not depend on the franchise’s intricate timeline.
“We deliberately placed the action far into the future. Everything that happened before takes place prior to the events of Planet of Death. We’re not trying to wedge this story between other films — I didn’t want viewers to have to figure out exactly where our film fits in the timeline.”
Consequently, “Predator: Planet of Death” functions as a fresh starting point — prior knowledge won’t be required. The film delivers a new confrontation between one of cinema’s most iconic hunters and those who fall into his path.
The leads are Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Colomatangi. Fanning portrays Tia, a synthetic created by the Weyland‑Yutani Corporation in the Alien universe. Colomatangi plays Dek, a young Yautja who embarks on a perilous journey to prove himself as a hunter.
“Predator: Planet of Death” is scheduled to open in theaters on November 7, 2025.
