The tech giant is moving forward with a policy shift first signaled back in 2024.
NVIDIA has officially confirmed that starting January 1, 2026, all premium tiers of its GeForce NOW cloud gaming platform will be subject to a 100-hour monthly playtime allowance. This structural change, which was initially previewed in 2024, will apply to the $9.99/month Performance tier (formerly known as Priority) as well as the $19.99/month Ultimate membership.
Once the monthly quota is exhausted, subscribers will have the option to purchase supplemental 15-hour blocks. These add-ons are priced at $2.99 for Performance users and $5.99 for those on the Ultimate plan. Any overages are rounded up to the nearest full block, though players can roll over up to 15 hours of unused time to the subsequent month.
NVIDIA suggests that this cap will affect fewer than 6% of its active subscribers, noting that the vast majority of the community stays well under the 100-hour threshold. To put this into perspective:
- Playing for approximately 3 hours every day (roughly 91 hours per month) keeps you safely within the base subscription limits.
- Extending play to 4 hours daily (around 122 hours per month) would increase total costs to approximately $15.97 for Performance members or $31.97 for Ultimate subscribers.
