NPCs Can Now Die on the Job in Manor Lords — Testing for the Next Update Has Begun
An unlucky turn of events can lead to grim consequences.
In early December, the medieval city-building strategy Manor Lords began testing a series of fixes and improvements.
Greg Styczeń outlined the gameplay changes:
- A “Protect resource area” toggle has been added for sawmills (Logging Camp, Firewood Cutter), causing workers to automatically avoid cutting trees near vulnerable resources.
- The maintenance calculation has been switched from “Time since last repair” to a full “Durability counter” to prevent certain exploits of the mechanic.
- The behavior of Barn and Warehouse workers has been substantially revised.
- Added at the testers’ request: warehouse workers can once again supply their Shops only from storage buildings.
- A chance of injury and a small chance of death have been introduced as possible consequences of failed Maintenance for some buildings that require tools.
Patch notes for versions 0.8.046 and 0.8.048 can be found here and here. No release date for the update has been announced yet.
