New Baby Animals Coming to Minecraft — Mojang Shares First Screenshots of the “Cutest” Update
Developers have finally decided it is time to revamp the game’s creature models.
Mojang recently unveiled Minecraft Snapshot “26.1 Snapshot 2,” which focuses on a visual overhaul for the game’s youngest inhabitants: the baby mobs.
Game Director Agnes Larsson provided insight into the studio’s creative direction:
Up until now, baby mobs were essentially just shrunken down versions of adults with oversized heads. Our artists have now developed unique textures and models that give each baby its own adorable look and individual personality.
In total, eight new designs for baby creatures were introduced in the latest update.
While standard mob models usually feature eyes composed of two pixels, the new baby variants use a single-pixel design, significantly enhancing their overall “cuteness factor.”
