When it came time for P!nk to accept her Icon Award at the 2021 Billboard Music Awards, the star had one thing to say; “This is ridiculous.”

Presenting the award was none other than rock icon Jon Bon Jovi — who P!nk had a bone to pick with early on in her speech. “I have to tell you, I think you might already know this, but I did not come out of my room for a week when you married Dorothea,” she said with a laugh. “I was 8, I ripped your poster off the wall, I replaced you with Sebastian Bach. I’m very glad that you found lasting love, Jon, but you broke my heart! I take this as an apology, and I accept.”

In accepting her award, P!nk took time to thank all her fans for continuing to support her throughout her career, and looked forward to a time when touring officially came back. “I love what I do and I love the people that I get  to do it with, and we’re pretty good at what we do, but it wouldn’t matter if no one came to see us and play with us,” she said, gesturing to the live audience. “So all of you guys out there, and around the world, thank you for coming out and for letting us all heal together. I can’t wait until we can do it all again, until we can just sweat all over each other.”

Closing out her speech, the “So What” singer made sure to let her fans know to keep sight of what’s important in these dark times. “This is an absolute honor — dream big, because what if it comes true?” she said, before walking off the stage.

Prior to taking home the award, P!nk took to the stage at the BBMAs to perform a massive mashup of some of her biggest hits, including “So What,” “Get the Party Started,” “Blow Me (One Last Kiss)” and much more. She was even joined at one point by her daughter, Willow ,for a beautiful aerial performance of “Cover Me In Sunshine,” the star’s latest single. “Willow nailed it!” she said during her speech.

The Billboard Music Awards are produced by dick clark productions, which is owned by MRC. MRC and Penske Media are co-parent companies of Billboard.
