On Reddit, StormriderArt expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support: they said the contest helped pull them out of a creative slump and that seeing their design come so close to being in the game was incredibly touching. They also expressed hope for future opportunities, including potential DLC contests.

They noted the disappointment that hammer concepts rarely win these competitions and pledged to return with an even stronger submission next time: “I’ll try my best to make y’all proud, thank you all again and happy hunting!!!”

I was pleased to see many hammer fans and admirers of the black-hole motif in the replies. “I wanted this one way more than the great sword. Dammit Capcom, give us some variety!” wrote Ragnatoa, while Insanely_Mclean hoped an aspiring modder might recreate the design.

You could reasonably argue every finalist merited recognition. For me, the Singularity Divider stood out, and its near-win was a delightful counterpoint to the major hammer adjustments the weapon received in a prior balance patch. Hammer still reigns in my book, and the Shatterseal — slated for a future update — is a worthy addition.
