In just a week, the release of the anticipated MindsEye will take place. The game is already being actively “marketed” to the public. Ads are even being shown in IMAX before the new “Mission Impossible” movie.

A mandatory part of the program is the gameplay trailer. It not only showcases the gameplay but also reveals the editor, which will be exclusively available on PC. It allows users to create their own missions, races, and more. The developers also promise to continue support for MindsEye after its release at least until winter.

However, the driving force of the marketing remains the project’s main visionary — Leslie Benzies, formerly the producer of the Grand Theft Auto series and president of Rockstar North. In interviews, he discusses the features of his new creation. Of course, the comparison with GTA 6 threads through each of these conversations.

I am not sure it would be wise for the company to say we are competing with the biggest game on the planet. I think it’s not the best business decision. We have different concepts and stories.

However, not everything is smooth sailing. Shortly before the release, external content creators claimed that MindsEye is not ready and needs to be postponed. There have been reports of intense crunches at Build a Rocket Boy aimed at fixing the situation. Subsequently, Mark Gerhard, one of the studio’s leaders, stated that a paid campaign against them is underway to discredit them. It wasn’t specified who is behind it, but it’s easy to suspect Rockstar Games.
