Marvel Rivals Season Five Is a Fresh Start for the Game — What’s Changed?
The new season of Marvel Rivals has launched, marking the next phase in the game’s evolution. The title still ranks among the most prominent online hits of recent months.
Frequent updates, continual balance adjustments, and an active community mean each major release reshapes the meta. NetEase keeps experimenting with fresh ideas and expanding the roster with characters that quickly resonate with players.
The fifth season of Marvel Rivals went live yesterday. It includes a refreshed Battle Pass, substantial changes to ranked matches, and a key addition — Gambit’s debut as a Strategist. In version 5.5 Rogue will also be introduced, which is expected to further shift the balance of power.
Among the changes, developers highlighted tweaks to Spider-Man and Captain America — adjustments that also affect the overall balance. Gambit’s kit centers on kinetic energy: he strikes with cards, heals allies, applies debuffs to foes, and, thanks to high mobility, excels in fast-paced skirmishes. Another feature adds bonuses from Magneto through a new Team Up. It appears the fifth season will be one of those updates that shape playstyle for an extended period.
