Lost Soul Aside Gets Its Biggest Update Today, Including a New Merciless Mode

Lost Soul Aside launched on PS5 and PC in late August after a long wait, but player interest waned quickly. The game failed to meet many fans’ expectations for an action RPG, which led to a decline in its popularity.

Despite the shaky start, the team kept working. The developers carefully reviewed community feedback and are rolling out a major update on November 18, 2025. It’s the most extensive patch to date and brings the following changes:

— A 100-wave Trial mode with escalating difficulty and varied enemy types. All skills and weapons will be unlocked for this mode.

— An option to skip the prologue has been added.

— A new Voidrax Pathfinder mode designed to streamline navigation and assist with puzzle-solving.

— Expanded customization: additional weapon accessories and more options for outfits and armor.

— Cinematics have been overhauled. Character animations were refined to better convey emotion, global lighting and shadowing were improved, and background voiceovers now include lip-sync.

— Fully remappable controls, allowing players to reconfigure button layouts.

— Core combat has been polished: rolls, double jumps, and overall weapon responsiveness were improved. The scythe and greatsword have received precise tuning to make combos feel smoother.
