“Is this being censored as well?” one frustrated viewer commented on the YouTube upload for the Resident Evil Requiem Switch 2 teaser. GamesRadar+ has contacted Nintendo for clarification.
Once you look past the stuttering animations—which were notably absent during the PS5 preview—you’ll see “Nintendo Leon” gritting his teeth while aiming remarkably wide of a mutant’s head. Whether he’s firing directly into the dirt or performing a chainsaw spin-attack on thin air, the tactical expertise is missing.
“With his unparalleled physical prowess,” the trailer narrator ironically notes. We’ll have to take their word for it for now.
Director Hideki Kamiya maintains that Resident Evil Requiem will avoid the cluttered protagonist issues seen in RE6, as Leon and Grace complement each other perfectly: “We are the true ‘inventors of sushi’ in this genre.”
