The developers have prepared fresh content.
Spellcast Studios recently released an updated demo build of the atmospheric RPG Ardenfall for PC on Steam. The team cites The Elder Scrolls — particularly Morrowind — as a major source of inspiration.
Previously, they ran a playtest for Ardenfall and, after collecting player feedback, shipped an improved version of the demo that expands the amount of content available:
- A brand-new region has been added.
- Combat has been overhauled — including AI improvements, refined animations, enhanced combat feel, and a smoother progression system.
- The main demo quest now features five distinct endings.
- Numerous secrets and a great deal of polish (visual upgrades, gameplay tweaks, and more).
Ardenfall is scheduled for release in 2026; the game’s Steam page is available here.
