Some jokesters misjudged their audience.
The web is full of criticism about new games being tied to servers, and an enthusiast using the handle Nearby_Tackle_2481 decided to make a joke about it.
He wrote: “That’s it. EA. I’m canceling my pre-order,” and posted a screenshot reading “Battlefield multiplayer requires an Internet connection.”
Although he labeled the post as “meme” (a joke), many commenters didn’t realise Nearby_Tackle_2481 was being facetious — further explanation had to follow. Some observers expressed their disappointment with other users:
- Fixxyoo: “People fail to recognise outright sarcasm — it’s just bonkers… some say, ‘It’s not that obvious.’ Just look at the tone of his post, haha.”
- MostlySlime: “This place is getting a little unnerving. People really struggle to grasp things that used to be obvious.”
- Street-Bee7215: “It’s insane how quickly people have turned into thoughtless fools who gulp down everything they see on-screen without a shred of critical thinking.”
