The legendary game designer’s interests extend well beyond the latest cinematic blockbusters.

Hideo Kojima continues to offer his insights on the latest in film and animation. This time, the visionary behind Death Stranding shared his heartfelt reaction to the animated musical “K-Pop: Demon Hunters.” On social media platform X, he revealed that he “happened upon the film by chance, became completely absorbed, and was weeping uncontrollably by the finale.”

The story follows a girl group who juggle their high-stakes pop careers with the secret duty of hunting demons. After its June 2025 release, the movie secured a 95% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and became Netflix’s most-watched feature film by September.

Netflix and Sony have already greenlit a sequel. Although development is underway, a specific release window for the follow-up remains under wraps.
