Developer Sharkmob has confirmed it will retire the servers for its 2022 free-to-play battle royale, Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodhunt, on April 28, 2026. Once the servers are closed the game will no longer be playable.
In a post on the official site, Sharkmob said the decision follows a sustained decline in the active player base, which makes continued operation of the game’s online services untenable. The studio thanked players for their support and the memories created in Prague’s shadowed streets, from rooftop skirmishes to community moments forged during play. Read the announcement.
Sharkmob has already disabled purchases of tokens (the game’s premium currency); however, the in-game store remains available so players can spend any tokens they already own. When Bloodhunt goes offline, player accounts and associated gameplay data will be deleted in accordance with the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and comparable laws.
Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodhunt is a third-person online battle royale set in a war-torn Prague, where rival vampire factions clash for dominance. Players can fight solo or in squads, using a mix of firearms and supernatural abilities. After an Early Access period on Steam, Bloodhunt formally launched on PlayStation 5 and PC in April 2022. The game enjoyed a positive reception, holding a “Very Positive” rating on Steam and a 77 aggregate score on Metacritic. (Preview: Game Informer preview; launch coverage: exit-early-access report.)
