It remains uncertain if Epic Games will introduce stricter regulations to curb these randomized purchases. Loot boxes have faced intense legal scrutiny globally, even resulting in a total ban in countries like Belgium. This development is particularly ironic given that Fortnite: Save the World transitioned away from blind loot boxes (Llamas) years ago, moving toward an “X-Ray” system that allowed players to see contents before spending currency.

In related news, the Fortnite lead developer recently expressed excitement over an upcoming South Park collaboration, describing the project as a “childhood dream come true.”
