To no one’s surprise, Dune is the next big crossover with Fortnite. Insider HYPEX leaked nine themed items early Monday morning, and the film’s leading man, Timothée Chalamet, hit Instagram with a story showing his character, Paul Atreides, kitted out inside the battle royale.
The items include skins for both Paul and Chani, back bling for both (neither look that different, tbh), a “Sand Walk” emote, the Twinblades as a harvesting tool, and a hilarious loading screen. Probably the most apropos items, however, are the Ornithopter glider (but of course), and the Maker Hooks harvesting tools. Either would be center square on anyone’s crossover bingo card.

Dune premieres Oct. 22. There’s no specific launch date yet for these items, but it’s a good bet they’ll hit the game soon. When they do, HYPEX says they’ll be available in two bundles.
Chalamet (and his unruly hair) stars alongside Zendaya as Chani in Dune, whose first 10 minutes we saw in IMAX back in July (warning, spoilers there). Director Denis Villeneuve is looking to break through a dense canon and 55 years of inertia that has kept Frank Herbert’s epic from mainstream cinematic success.
