In the extraction shooter Arc Raiders, progression wipes are handled through a unique voluntary mechanic known as the “Expedition.” Players are encouraged to donate resources to a collective fund, which eventually triggers a specific “departure window” for their journey.
Recently, the first wave of Arc Raiders fans successfully embarked on their expeditions, discovering that the developers had tucked away a special surprise. Beyond the previously disclosed rewards, participants were treated to a narrative cinematic depicting their character bidding a final farewell before setting out into the unknown.
Opting into an Expedition grants players substantial long-term benefits, including experience multipliers, increased resource yields from traders, exclusive cosmetic items, and expanded stash capacity. Furthermore, those who managed to accumulate a high enough credit balance were rewarded with up to five additional skill points for their next run.
