Paramount canceled Halo after two seasons, but the series has since found new life on Netflix.
The Halo series, adapted from the iconic shooter franchise, aired from 2022 to 2024 and was initially promoted as one of Paramount+’s flagship titles. However, it garnered mixed reviews and relatively low viewer engagement, leading the platform to discontinue the show after its second season.
Netflix recently acquired the streaming rights and released the series on its service, where Halo unexpectedly surged in popularity. The show broke into the top 10 and climbed to fourth place on the U.S. viewing charts.
In response to this renewed attention, fan activity on social media has spiked — viewers are pleading with Netflix to revive the series and greenlight a third season.
“I still can’t believe Paramount pulled the plug just when the show hit its stride — it’s gotten SO good! Netflix, please save it — take my money. The second-season finale is phenomenal! Halo, season 3!”
“Netflix, please make a third season. But have the team rework the season-two finale so the storyline doesn’t actually reach Halo.”
