Previous Patch Notes
Hello Pioneers!
Today we reopened the Experimental branch with a set of changes. The headline change is an optimization: we refactored how spline collision is handled in the engine. Conveyor Belts, Pipelines and Hypertubes will now only have active collision when a player is nearby, which should improve memory usage on larger saves that make heavy use of these structures.
Because this change could have unintended side effects in Singleplayer, Multiplayer, or Dedicated Server environments, we’re rolling it out in Experimental first to gather feedback before promoting it to the default release. If you encounter anything odd after this update, please report it on our QA site so we can address it.

OPTIMIZATION
- Refactored spline collision
- Affects Conveyor Belts, Pipelines and Hypertubes — collision is now active only when players are nearby.
BUG FIXES
- Fixed an issue where the “Let’s see what’s out there” achievement wouldn’t unlock in non‑English game languages.
- Fixed a crash that could occur when loading saves containing Conveyor Belts auto‑connected by blueprints during 1.1 Experimental (if those saves weren’t resaved after the prior fix).
- Fixed a null‑pointer crash related to mismatched item pickup counts between client and server.
STEAM DECK
- Fixed controller support not functioning with the Server Manager.
- Verified support:
- First‑time install now properly supports Steam Deck’s built‑in controls during initial setup steps (e.g., Microsoft Visual C++ runtime installation).
- Steam Deck integrated controls remain available even when an external controller is connected.
