Tunic is Heading to the Nintendo Switch 2

Finji, the publisher behind the critically acclaimed puzzle-adventure Tunic, has officially confirmed that the title is bound for Nintendo’s next-generation hardware. While a specific release date has yet to be disclosed, the studio has assured fans that the project is actively in the works.

The news broke during Tunic’s fourth-anniversary celebrations. In a social media update, Finji shared: “Tunic turns four years old today! It is the perfect moment to reveal that a Switch 2 update is on the way. We are working hard to bring this to life—stay tuned for more updates!” Since Tunic is already a fan favorite on the original Switch, the community is eager to see how the added horsepower of the Switch 2 will refine its striking isometric visuals and performance.

For the uninitiated, Tunic follows a courageous vulpine protagonist who navigates a world overflowing with cryptic puzzles and ancient secrets. It is a rare experience where the joy of discovery is the primary mechanic; the game is best approached with as little prior knowledge as possible to let its mysteries unfold naturally. It expertly captures the essence of classic exploration while introducing a modern, sophisticated twist on the genre.

The game has received widespread critical acclaim, earning a staggering 9.75/10 review score for its ability to evoke nostalgia while remaining entirely innovative. Reviewers have described it as a “stunning achievement” that stands as a masterclass in game design. Aside from this update, fans of the publisher can also look forward to their upcoming title, Usual June.

Currently, Tunic is available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
