“As players become more sophisticated and master the mechanics, the standard drone units lose their lethality. Raiders learn the attack telegraphs, understand the AI patterns, and figure out how to neutralize them almost instantly. Our focus now is on how to continue that escalation.”
The developer essentially categorizes the Arc into two distinct tiers: the common nuisances encountered during standard play, and the high-tier threats that emerge during major events like Matriarch assaults. While Embark wants to expand both groups, there is a significant technical hurdle to bringing the “mountain-roamers” into the active play space: the risk of server instability.

Our ambitions are massive, and while you might not be fighting those background giants anytime soon, we include them to show the scale of the world we’re building toward.”
For more immediate updates, Embark is focusing on mechanical “variants.” Rather than simple color swaps, they want to adjust attack behaviors, armor layouts, and weapon configurations. The goal is to ensure that every new enemy serves a distinct purpose within the ecosystem rather than just being a “Blue Wasp” recolor.
Watkins also dropped a hint regarding the newest Arc threat: the Shredders. Currently, these lethal machines are restricted to the Stella Montis map, but that isolation might be temporary.
“I’d consider it a promise rather than a possibility,” he says. “They’ll eventually find a way to escape into other regions.”
