EA’s dark fairy tale Lost in Random comes to PC, consoles this summer

Lost in Random, an action RPG from the makers of 2018’s Fe, will launch Sept. 10, Zoink Games and Electronic Arts announced at EA Play Live 2021 on Thursday. A gameplay trailer showed off Lost in Random’s unique “dice battle” combat, which blends real-time action with turn-based tactics.

Olav Redmalm, the game’s creative director, called Lost in Random an homage to the “dark fairy tales” and stop-motion animated features he grew up with. In the story, two sisters, Odd and Even, are “cruelly separated by an evil being.” Players will work to reunite them.

They will be aided by their companion, Dicey, an anthropomorphic d6 who deploys the time-stopping combat effect after players power it up with successful hits in regular combat. Other combat super-abilities include exploding dice, a large hammer for long-range melee combat, and traps.

Lost in Random, a selection for the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival, was announced during E3 2019. The game will launch on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One.
