Electronic Arts is preparing players for the release of Battlefield 6 next week, confirming that console builds will be capable of running at up to 120 frames per second.
Earlier, EA revealed the full slate of content for Season One, showcasing new maps, modes, weapons, and timed events that will be introduced gradually through the end of 2025. Notably, the roadmap also references a mysterious element called “Covert Operations,” which does not appear on the official support schedule.
According to a message sent to EA account holders, “Covert Operations” will be included in the free launch content. Whether it represents a standalone mode or a set of seasonal objectives remains unclear, but expected activities include rescuing allies, sabotaging enemy vehicles, and accumulating support points.
Developers also confirmed that Performance mode on PS5 and Xbox Series X typically holds steady at 80–90 fps, while Digital Foundry’s beta tests with VRR enabled recorded figures closer to 110–120 fps. The final release has been optimized, and players will be able to choose between Fidelity mode (60 fps with enhanced visual detail) and Performance mode (up to 120 fps).
