Battlefield 6 multiplayer — soldiers fleeing a collapsing building

The custom-designed map supports 100 players divided into 25 squads of four. It includes a variety of tactical Points of Interest with distinct layouts and themes that provide different strategic opportunities.

Common transport vehicles will be dotted around the map to speed up early rotations when the playable area is at its largest, and to create dynamic combined-arms encounters as matches progress.

Destruction is intended to be a core element: players can blast paths through walls and even bring down structures using an assortment of gadgets and explosives. EA anticipates creative uses of destruction will become a defining tactical layer.

To keep squads competitive after a downing, Battlefield’s BR will offer multiple revival and redeploy tools — including revives from the Support class and several mobile respawn options.

The battle royale’s hazard — a shrinking ring — is described by EA as an especially lethal mechanic that will instantly eliminate players who touch it. The game provides on‑screen warnings as the ring closes; ignoring those alerts and remaining inside the hazard will result in immediate death.

Gameplay loop follows familiar BR rhythms: teams drop in, scavenge and complete missions, and clash over loot as the playable area compresses. The mode features five tiers of weapons with attachments, plus explosives and gadgets such as RPGs, air strikes, armor, and custom drops for favored weapons.

Squads of four can opt for a balanced composition — mixing classes — or a focused approach where everyone selects the same class. Class choices are locked for the duration of each match.

Progression occurs through class-specific Training: completing objectives and defeating opponents earns traits that bolster that class. For example, an Assault trait might allow faster armor equipping, improving survivability in subsequent engagements.

EA will monitor which class combinations and abilities prove effective — from the Support’s supply crate to the Engineer’s vehicle-countering tools — and use player feedback from Battlefield Labs to refine balance before wider release.
