To synergize with these mechanical shifts, Blizzard is introducing ‘Bloodied’ items. These unique gear pieces provide powerful enhancements designed to fuel your streaks. For example, the Rapid Parashu axe grants a six-second Berserking window for every 25 enemies defeated.

Bloodied gear, which can also roll with Ancestral stats, features three distinct reward systems: Rampage (scaling with your active killstreak tier), Feast (rewarding total kill volume), and Hunger (modifying rewards based on current tier). These additions have already sparked excitement in the community.

“It’s fantastic to see Killstreaks return. Rebuilding that XP chain was one of the best parts of the leveling experience in Diablo 3,” noted a highly upvoted Reddit user. Another fan added, “The mini-game of keeping the combo alive makes the grind so much more engaging.”

Endgame players can also look forward to Bloodied Sigils, which transform standard locations into ‘Bloodied Lairs.’ These zones feature a ‘Relentless Butcher’—a terrifying pursuer who cannot be permanently slain and will chase players throughout the dungeon. Surviving these high-threat environments guarantees Bloodied item drops, but they are exclusive to Torment I difficulty and above, spanning Nightmare Dungeons, Infernal Hordes, and Boss Lairs.

The 2.6.0 PTR will remain open for one week beginning February 3. Diablo 4 Season 12 is scheduled to launch on March 10, serving as the final bridge to the massive Lord of Hatred expansion, arriving on April 28.

In other news, the lead designer of No Rest for the Wicked recently took aim at former Blizzard CEO Mike Ybarra, alleging “irreparable damage” was done to the Diablo franchise during his leadership—a claim Ybarra dismissed with a pointed social media rebuttal.
