Trust me, if I knew anything, I’d say has. Just out here getting excited about rumors and tweets 😂 February 10, 2026
Given that V’s narrative arc concluded with him merging back into Vergil, Hanford’s lack of involvement would make sense. This isn’t the first time the actor has accidentally fueled false hope; in 2020, he tweeted his excitement for a new “Capcom VS” title that never actually materialized.
That said, Devil May Cry cast members have inadvertently leaked information before. In 2015, Dan Southworth (Vergil) casually mentioned during a panel that the team was being “brought back,” effectively confirming Devil May Cry 5 years before its debut. More recently, in 2024, Southworth alluded to being asked for a “younger Vergil” voice for an undisclosed project. While Capcom clearly views the series as a “core IP” alongside titans like Resident Evil, it’s probably best to keep expectations in check for now.
