Valve has scheduled a staggered release for these heroes, with two arriving each week—one on Mondays and another on Thursdays—starting January 26. In a community-focused twist, player votes will dictate the arrival order. According to the official announcement, users can earn additional voting power simply by participating in matches.
Another headline feature is ‘Street Brawl,’ a high-octane 4v4 mode designed for faster gameplay. This best-of-five format streamlines the experience by offering players a curated, randomized selection of items between rounds, ensuring rapid-fire engagement.
The sheer volume of technical adjustments is staggering. Beyond the major additions, the update introduces new bosses, troopers, and base designs, along with fresh equipment items. Players will also find a revamped post-game summary system and a more nuanced MVP scoring algorithm. Visual improvements abound, including better visibility outlines, refreshed damage indicators, and kill streak trackers. The map itself has been expanded with subterranean tunnels designed for smaller characters like Rem to exploit.
Reflecting on the game’s current state, former FPS professional Shroud noted that Deadlock is already “one of the best games ever made,” suggesting its mainstream breakthrough is only a matter of time.
