DarkStone Digital and publisher DreadXP have announced Paranormal Activity: Threshold, a game based on the well-known horror franchise.
The game is slated to launch in 2026 for PC and consoles. Along with the announcement, the first trailer was released, conveying the game’s mood and premise.
As with the Paranormal Activity films, the project adopts a “found footage” style — handheld camera recordings. The story follows Daniel and Jessica Stewart, a young couple who move into an old, neglected house — the only dwelling they can afford.
The couple decide to film their renovation work, but soon uncover strange symbols and objects in the walls, and a sinister presence begins to manifest in the home.
Gameplay blends exploration, puzzle-solving, and encounters with paranormal entities. The developers promise the ability to move between timelines and make choices that shape the narrative. Powered by the studio’s Paranormal Engine, each playthrough is intended to be unique.
The studio’s previous title, The Mortuary Assistant, was praised for its atmosphere and inventive horror mechanics. If Threshold maintains that standard, it could become one of 2026’s standout horror premieres.
