Creators of “Dino Crisis successor” respond to hypocrisy accusations: they refused PC release over porn mods, but are now selling lewd skins

Even without the use of third-party modifications, players in Code Violet will be able to access provocative character skins natively.

The developers behind Code Violet previously made headlines after announcing their decision to skip a PC release. Their reasoning at the time was a refusal to support a platform where the community frequently creates explicit “pornographic mods.”

However, the studio is now generating its own suggestive content. Those who purchase the Digital Deluxe Edition will receive a variety of revealing outfits, including a specific skin titled “Big Sky Cowgirl.”

Predictably, gamers have raised questions regarding the studio’s consistency, with many accusing TeamKill Media of blatant hypocrisy.

Initially, the creators of Code Violet attempted to justify their position by drawing a line between aesthetics and explicit content:

“There is a vast difference between showcasing a character’s feminine silhouette and body contours versus creating ‘pornographic’ or ‘nude’ character mods. We are firmly against ‘vulgar’ and ‘explicit’ mods… we are not against ‘sensuality’ itself.”

That post was soon deleted. TeamKill Media has now shifted its strategy, claiming that instead of engaging with “provocations,” they will simply issue bans to “haters”:

[…] As a company, we hold the right to determine the distribution and sales strategy for our titles. We aimed to provide transparent answers to public inquiries, yet whenever our perspectives clash with others, it results in hostility. Some use our statements as bait to stir controversy and monetize outrage. At this stage, we will no longer acknowledge the noise—those who bring toxicity to our page will be blocked.

“Our social media channels are intended for our fans—a place to engage with us and each other, stay informed, and provide feedback that helps us improve our games. We designed these additional outfits for Code Violet specifically because of high demand. We’ve integrated a significant amount of constructive feedback and truly appreciate those who support our work. This page should be a positive environment, and we refuse to go silent or stop communicating with the community for whom Teamkill exists.”

“There are those who hope we stumble, fail, or go bankrupt. That will not happen. We are pushing forward with total commitment. With several projects in development, online vitriol won’t stop us. We’ve dedicated nearly a decade to this craft, and we aren’t going anywhere.”
