Cross-Play – A Quick Guide Before You Start

Enabling Cross-Play and Adding Friends

Want to connect with friends across platforms? First, have everyone link their preferred platform account to their Larian Account.

Visit https://larian.com/account/connected to connect your account. Simple, right? Next, ensure everyone in your group has cross-play enabled in the game settings.

  1. Select “Options” on the Main Menu.
  2. Under the Gameplay tab, scroll to “Allow Cross-Play”.
  3. Check the box.

Now, add your friends on the Larian Network to invite them to play.

  1. Log in using the “Larian Account” button on the Main Menu bottom right.
  2. Once logged in, click “Manage Account” at the same location.
  3. Select “Friends List”.
  4. Ask your friend to share their Larian Account username.
  5. Click “Add Friends” and enter their username.
  6. Send a friend request.
Hosting, Creating, and Joining a Cross-Play Lobby

To have friends join an existing campaign, make sure the save has cross-play enabled.

  1. Select “Load Game” on the Main Menu.
  2. Enable cross-play for the selected savegame using the “Cross-Play” checkbox.
  3. Load the savegame.
  4. Navigate to “Multiplayer” and invite your friend once in the save.

Starting anew with your party? Create a cross-play multiplayer lobby:

  1. Select “Multiplayer” on the Main Menu.
  2. Choose the “Cross-Play” tab.
  3. Select “Create”.
  4. Invite your friends.
  5. Customize settings and select “Launch”.

To join another player in cross-play multiplayer:

  1. Select “Multiplayer” on the Main Menu.
  2. Choose the “Cross-Play” tab.
  3. Enter the other player’s lobby.
  4. If mods are used, a Mod Verification window will open to highlight any necessary installations, removals, or updates.

If you’re using a modded save on PC and friends on console or Mac are joining, ensure the savegame has no more than 100 mods, and that the mods are available to console and Mac users. This can be verified by looking for the “Available on Mac and Console” filter in the Mod Browser or checking the mod’s Mod Details page.

College of Glamour Bard

Starting at Level 3, these Bards, taught by the fey, excel in captivating audiences. Defend your allies with your allure and command foes with your enchanting voice.

Death Domain Cleric

If darkness appeals to you, the Death Domain Cleric, available from Level 1, can raise the undead and wield death’s forces for ominous gameplay.

Circle of Stars Druid

If you’re drawn to celestial bodies, the Circle of Stars Druid might be for you. Starting at Level 2, assume Starry Forms for enhanced combat and healing abilities.

Arcane Archer Fighter

Pick Arcane Archer Fighters at Level 3 for archery infused with magic, allowing for magical arrow attacks beyond mere aim.

Way of the Drunken Master Monk

Available at Level 3, these Monks mask skill with a staggering façade, regaining Ki through drinking and landing psychic damage.

Oath of the Crown Paladin

Starting at Level 1, this Paladin upholds order, requiring commitment and allies’ protection—ideal for those dedicated to righteousness.

Swarmkeeper Ranger

If solitude isn’t your style, become a Swarmkeeper Ranger from Level 3, summoning creatures to unleash varied attacks on foes.

Swashbuckler Rogue

Swashbuckler Rogues bring piratical flair to combat from Level 3, with tactics like sand-throwing and quick movements.

Shadow Magic Sorcerer

For a darker theme, the Shadow Magic Sorcerer draws power from the Shadowfell and can teleport through shadows, available from Level 1.

Hexblade Warlock

Having a pact with a sentient weapon, this Warlock starts with a bound weapon that curses foes and raises spectres upon their defeat.

Bladesinging Wizard

From Level 2, Bladesinging Wizards merge magic and melee with their elegant combat style, delivering swift strategic attacks.
